OPC News
The OPC Foundation has finally released the OPC UA Specification 1.02. Version 1.02 is mainly a maintenance release. It is an update with numerous clarifications and a few bug fixes.. After nearly two years the new spec adds four major features:

  • 1) Historical Access and Aggregates
  • 2) HTTPS Protocol Binding
  • 3) File Objects and File Transfer.
  • 4) XML Schema for Information Model
The new Historical Access Specification allows starting full HA implementations on server and client side. The HTTPS binding defines hybrid protocol having UA binary data within a HTTPS message frame. The new file transfer enables clients and servers sending large files across secured UA connection. An XML Schema was defined and standardized to fully express address space information.
